11/10 | Biomass from sustainable forest: a carbon neutral source of renewable energy

Brussels, 12 November 2010. AEBIOM has presented a declaration on carbon neutrality during its’ workshop in the European Parliament on 10 November.  The declaration shows that the use of bioenergy from sustainably managed forests does not only reduces the CO2 emissions by substituting fossil fuels but also, if properly managed, increases the carbon stock in the forests. The declaration explains the carbon cycle and shows that the carbon stock in continuously increasing in the European forests.
