Agriculture and Forestry

Background

Although agriculture and forestry practices are not dealt with at the same level of competence (the agricultural policy is a shared competence and the forestry policy is a national competence), both are concerned by different EU policies (agriculture, environment, energy…)

The role of biomass

Agriculture and forestry are the most common categories of biomass used for energy purposes (bio-waste today represents a small share of total bioenergy consumption).

AEBIOM position

AEBIOM is following closely all EU policies concerning the agricultural and forestry sector as these are the providers of most of the biomass feedstocks for energy production.
